Spa Dentistry?

Spa dentistry sounds like an oxymoron. Going to the dentist is not relaxing. In fact, it is one thing a huge number of people dread. Some of us are like kids. We go, kicking and screaming so to speak.

What if it could be a pleasant experience? Don't pooh, pooh it yet. Spa dentistry is relatively new, but it does exist. It is a part of many dental practices that also have traditional services. Some practices offer the spa experience completely

Think about it, massaging chairs, heated blankets, paraffin wax hand treatments. What's not to like? Ok, how about aromatherapy eye pillows, soothing music and virtual reality glasses so you can watch a movie while getting your teeth cleaned?

Oh, I forgot about refreshments, coffee, tea, juice drinks or bottled water are offered. Some places have freshly baked cookies. Come on, who doesn't want a cookie?

If none of that appeals to you, you can also get a facial, hot stone massage, or foot massage, ahhhh. The staff wants to ensure your total comfort and relaxation.

Despite the dim lighting, soft music, and did I mention, post anesthetic milkshakes, this is still a dentist's office and all the normal dental services are offered.

Who cares? Book me for a massage and a fresh baked cookie.
